Bottom-up or local-level approaches to violence prevention emphasise the role of the community, local knowledge and collaboration in interventions. When based in a local setting, projects are more responsive and tailored to the specific needs of that community.
But what are the ingredients that make local-level interventions work? This seminar will showcase two unique case studies of bottom-up violence prevention in South Africa.
This online seminar is jointly hosted by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and the INSPIRE Working Group.
Moderator: Jody van der Heyde, INSPIRE Working Group Global Coordinator, ISS
